Webster Morrell Sawyer Sr was born Oct. 12, 1893 in Roxbury, MA to Charles Edmund Sawyer and Sarah Willard Sawyer. He was the last of seven children.

The 1910 census shows that Webster and his mother were living with his second oldest brother Herbert in Lyons, IL.

Webster joined the Army in 1918 and served in France. He returned to Harvard MA in 1919 at the end of WWI.

He married Josephine Newell Baker (4 Nov 1894) of Harvard on June 17, 1920. On June 12, 1921 their first child, Webster Morell Jr, was born. This was followed by a daughter, Constance, on Jan. 24, 1923.

In 1925 Webster's family and his mother moved to Glen Ellyn, IL.

Webster was an accountant/auditor/bookkeeper. He worked as an accountant for a Boston fertilizer company, when it closed he worked for the Government Accounting Office. With the GAO as an auditor, through the depression, he worked in Muskogee OK during the building of a Douglas Aircraft plant, then Wichita, KS and then New Orleans. He moved to New Orleans in the early 40's.

Webster died Oct. 20 1964 in Berkley, Alameda County, CA.
Josephine had preceded him in death on 20 Jan 1949 (aged 54) in Orleans, Lousiana, USA . They are burried in the Sawyer Family plot in Bellevue Cemetery Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
